Davis Wert is a senior associate with the Denver law firm of Trout Raley.  Since joining Trout Raley, Mr. Wert has practiced water, environmental, public lands, eminent domain, and property law, among other areas, and has experience representing public and private clients, including the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, before the Colorado district, water, and appellate courts, the federal courts for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits and the Districts of  Arizona and Colorado, and state and federal agencies.  Prior to joining Trout Raley, Mr. Wert clerked for the Honorable Brian D. Boatright on the Colorado Supreme Court. During law school, Mr. Wert interned at the Colorado Supreme Court, the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, and two private law firms.

Associate Attorney (2016 – Present).  Natural resources firm with emphasis in water and environmental law and litigation.  Represents a variety of clients including water conservancy districts, municipalities, counties, landowners, golf course and real estate developers, and nonprofits in both state and federal litigation and administrative matters.

Colorado Supreme Court

Judicial Clerk (2015–2016).  Clerk for the Honorable Brian D. Boatright of the Colorado Supreme Court.  Assisted Justice Boatright with tasks including legal research, record review, and opinion drafting for a variety of cases, including cases involving intricate questions of water law and property law. Drafted memoranda recommending grant or denial of petitions for writs of certiorari filed with the Court.
